Pediatric Skilled Nursing Facility Speech Therapist in Dumfries, VA

Help support student success and communication growth as a Speech-Language Pathologist for the 2025-2026 school year. This contract opportunity offers a full-time, in-person position, working primarily with elementary-aged students. The role runs from August 13th, 2025, through May 21st, 2026, and provides the chance to shape each student's learning experience through speech and language interventions.

Essential Qualifications:

• Active VA SLP License required
• Skills and experience in assessment, evaluation, and consultation for school-based therapy
• Ability to work effectively with students with special education needs and their families
• Familiarity with special education processes, procedures, and disability categories
• Experience with pediatrics, early learning, school settings, and/or atypical impairments is preferred
• Ability to maintain positive, professional relationships with staff and families
• Strength in clear communication, teamwork, and creative engagement
• Previous school-based experience strongly preferred

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver speech and language assessment and therapy for elementary students
• Provide consultative guidance and support to staff regarding speech and language concerns
• Conduct screenings and diagnostic evaluations for students referred for special education
• Actively participate as part of a multidisciplinary IEP team, contributing expertise and insight
• Collaborate with school personnel and community partners to support students’ development
• Support development of language programs within classroom and community environments
• Maintain consistent communication with families, teachers, and health agencies
