What We’re Looking For:
- Active VA SLP License
- Prior experience in a school setting preferred; willingness to work with elementary students is essential
- Familiarity with the special education process, including assessment, evaluation, and consultation
- Skilled in developing and maintaining positive relationships with students, families, staff, and community partners
- Knowledge of speech and language development, disability categories, and IEP planning
- Strong communication abilities, including effective listening and two-way dialogue
- A spirit of creativity, enthusiasm, and a lighthearted approach that brings joy to your work environment
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct screenings and comprehensive evaluations in speech, language, and articulation for students referred to special education
- Participate as a valued member of the multi-disciplinary team to develop and implement IEPs
- Provide direct therapy and consultative services to help students thrive in classroom and community settings
- Offer guidance to teachers and staff on supporting language development
- Maintain clear and collaborative communication with educators, families, and health agencies
- Track student progress, adjusting interventions as needed for optimal outcomes
