Apply NowA dynamic opportunity is available for a Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) to serve a high school setting for the 2025–2026 school year. This full-time, in-person contract position offers the chance to make a meaningful impact on students’ communication skills within a supportive educational environment in Salinas, CA.
Location: Salinas, California
Setting: High School (K-12 options available)
Schedule: Monday through Friday
Duration: Full School Year (NSY) – Contract
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive speech and language screenings, assessments, and evaluations for students referred for special education services.
- Collaborate as an integral member of the multidisciplinary team, contributing expertise during IEP planning and implementation.
- Provide consultative support to school personnel, families, and healthcare agencies to monitor and promote student progress.
- Design and implement individualized speech and language intervention plans to address communication impairments.
- Assist classroom and special education staff in developing effective language programs tailored to student needs.
- Maintain positive and professional relationships with staff, students, families, and community partners to foster a nurturing educational environment.
Qualifications:
- Active California Speech-Language Pathologist license (CA SLP License) required.
- Experience in school-based SLP roles preferred, with knowledge of special education procedures and disability categories.
- Skilled in assessment, evaluation, and consultation involving pediatric populations.
- Strong communication skills and ability to engage with children, families, and colleagues enthusiastically and professionally.
- Commitment to supporting students with special education needs, demonstrating empathy, dedication, and adaptability.
- Ability to incorporate humor and lightheartedness while maintaining professionalism.
