Bring your expertise in speech and language therapy to a supportive educational environment for the 2026-2027 school year! This contract-based opportunity offers the chance to make a lasting impact on students' communication skills, working primarily with elementary learners and supporting some high school students across three sites in the greater Tacoma area.

You will collaborate closely with the Director of Special Education, delivering individualized speech and language assessments and therapy, as well as providing consultative guidance to staff. This role allows you to foster meaningful connections not only with students and families but also with a broader educational team, helping shape positive outcomes within the school community.

Key Qualifications:

  • Active Washington SLP license required
  • Experience in pediatrics, schools, and/or Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) preferred
  • Strong commitment to supporting students with special needs and their families
  • Proven skills in assessment, evaluation, and consultation
  • Ability to create a welcoming, positive, and energetic environment
  • Solid understanding of the special education process, including IEPs and disability categories
  • Strong organization, planning, and communication abilities, including active listening

Responsibilities:

  • Provide IEP-driven speech-language therapy services for 35-38 hours per week
  • Serve students at mostly elementary and some high school grade levels
  • Conduct thorough assessments and develop individualized therapy plans
  • Work collaboratively with staff, families, and community partners
  • Support special education identification and documentation
