We're seeking a skilled Speech Language Pathologist for a full-time, in-person contract serving elementary learners. Starting August 13th, you’ll collaborate with a dedicated Special Education Team, providing essential speech and language therapy services, and play a vital role in helping students overcome communication challenges to better achieve academic and personal success.

Qualifications:

  • Active Virginia SLP License required
  • Preferred: Previous school-based experience
  • Experience with student assessment, evaluation, and ongoing consultation
  • Strong commitment to supporting students with special education needs and their families
  • Capacity for building positive relationships with colleagues, families, and the wider community
  • Familiarity with special education processes and disability categories, including early learning and atypical impairments
  • Excellent communication skills, including active listening and professional, two-way interaction
  • Ability to keep therapy lighthearted, engaging, and supportive

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct individualized speech, language, and articulation assessments and consultations
  • Partner with multi-disciplinary teams to help create, interpret, and execute Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
  • Consult with teachers and staff on language program development and implementation
  • Support students directly to promote classroom and community engagement
  • Maintain effective communication with families, school staff, and local healthcare agencies to encourage student growth
