Qualifications & Desired Experience
- Valid Virginia SLP license or eligibility for licensure
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (SLP-CCC), Clinical Fellowship Year (SLP-CFY) also considered
- Experience in pediatric settings, preferably in schools
- Knowledge of best practices for therapy with elementary-aged children
- Strong communication and organizational abilities
- Commitment to evidence-based interventions
- Ability to work independently and collaborate with teachers, families, and related service providers
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct speech and language therapy to students in elementary grade levels
- Conduct assessments and screenings to identify speech/language needs
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) in collaboration with the school team
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation and progress reports
- Offer guidance and support to classroom teachers and families regarding student needs
- Participate in school meetings and multidisciplinary team discussions
- Adapt services to both single and two-school assignment structures as required
