Apply NowA Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) opportunity is available for the 2025-2026 school year in Yuba City, CA. This full-time, in-person position focuses on providing specialized speech and language assessment and therapy services primarily to elementary students within a school setting. The role supports the district’s mission by evaluating students' communication needs and collaborating with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams to develop individualized educational plans.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct screenings, evaluations, and assessments covering speech, language, articulation, and auditory development for students referred for special education.
- Provide consultative and advisory services to school personnel regarding diagnosis and remediation strategies.
- Participate actively in multidisciplinary team meetings, contributing valuable insights for IEP planning.
- Maintain clear and ongoing communication with staff, families, and healthcare providers to support student progress.
- Deliver direct therapy services to children with speech and language impairments, promoting their academic and social growth.
- Assist educators in designing and implementing effective language programs in classroom and community environments.
Qualifications:
- Active California Speech Language Pathologist License.
- Experience and demonstrated commitment to working with students requiring special education services and their families.
- Training in assessment, evaluation, and consultation techniques.
- Ability to bring positivity and lightheartedness to the workplace.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build professional relationships with staff, students, families, and community partners.
- Knowledge of special education processes, disability categories, and relevant procedures.
- Effective communication skills, including active listening and appropriate channel use.
Location: Yuba City, California — work onsite with school-aged children.
This is a contract position running through June 2026, with an immediate start available.
