Skilled Nursing Facility Speech Language Pathology Assistant | Fredericksburg, Virginia

Step into a pivotal role as a Speech Language Pathologist Assistant for the 2025-2026 school year, supporting students from PreK through 12th grade across multiple sites near Fredericksburg, VA. You’ll play a key part in delivering individualized intervention services under the guidance of a supervising Speech-Language Pathologist, ensuring each student receives the support they need to thrive. This full-time, in-person contract position runs from August 13th through May 21st, operating Monday through Friday with a 40-hour workweek.

Candidates should feel comfortable with an itinerant schedule—rotating between sites as student needs evolve. You’ll interact with teachers, parents, and a multi-disciplinary team, lending your expertise and positive attitude to a collaborative educational environment.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Associate's or Bachelor’s degree in Speech, Language, and Hearing or Communication Disorders
• Previous paraprofessional or school-based experience preferred
• Background in language or articulation therapy a plus
• Strong interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to collaborate
• Excellent communication skills, including active listening
• A willingness to learn and implement new therapy techniques
• Ability to maintain an upbeat, positive, and team-focused approach

Core Responsibilities:

• Assist with individualized speech interventions as directed by the supervising SLP
• Support assessment and progress monitoring activities
• Collect case histories, tabulate and score tests, and prepare documentation
• Transport students as needed to therapy or testing areas
• Attend IEP and parent meetings to provide insight into student progress
• Participate in ongoing professional development and in-service training
