Apply NowA Speech Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA) position is available for the current school year in Sacramento, CA. This contract role is based in a school setting and involves working directly with elementary students Monday through Friday. The SLPA supports licensed Speech-Language Pathologists by delivering tailored intervention services to students with speech-language disorders, contributing to each student’s educational progress.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement individualized speech-language interventions as designed by the supervising SLP.
- Assist in administering and scoring assessments; gather case histories and complete observation checklists.
- Support SLPs during student assessments and communicate with parents as needed.
- Participate in IEP meetings and other conferences to provide updates on students’ functional goals.
- Prepare documentation including evaluations, progress notes, and reports to support therapy recommendations.
- Transport students between therapy and testing locations as required.
- Collaborate with therapists, teachers, parents, and other professionals to ensure comprehensive care.
Qualifications:
- Active Speech Language Pathologist Assistant license.
- Bachelor’s degree in Speech, Language and Hearing or Communication Disorders.
- Experience in school settings or as a paraprofessional preferred.
- Training or experience in language and articulation therapy preferred.
- Strong communication skills with a positive, collaborative attitude.
- Ability to learn and apply new therapy strategies effectively.
This role requires full-time, in-person attendance and offers an engaging environment focused on student support and therapy services.
