Apply NowStep into a valuable role as a Speech Language Pathologist Assistant supporting PreK–12 students for the 2025–2026 school year. Based near Woodbridge, VA, this contract position is in-person and itinerant, with schedules that may change to meet evolving student needs. Working full-time (Monday–Friday, 40 hours per week), you’ll collaborate closely with a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist to provide tailored interventions and educational supports to students with speech-language needs.
Key Qualifications:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Speech, Language and Hearing, or Communication Disorders
- Experience as a paraprofessional or in a school setting is highly desirable
- Prior training in language and/or articulation therapy is preferred
- Exceptional communication abilities, including active listening and clear, two-way interaction
- Positive, team-oriented attitude with adaptability and willingness to learn new techniques
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, families, and students
Core Responsibilities:
- Provide direct intervention under the supervision of a Speech-Language Pathologist for students’ speech and language needs
- Administer and score language and articulation assessments as directed; record and document observations and progress data
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to track student goals and support educational planning
- Attend meetings such as IEP conferences and professional development sessions to share student progress
- Assist in documentation for evaluations, IEPs, and progress notes
- Transport students to and from testing or therapy locations as needed
Anticipated start date is August 13th, and the position runs through May 21st. Pay begins at $33 per hour, adjusted for credentials.
