Clinical Pharmacist Duties

A clinical pharmacist is responsible for working directly with physicians and other medical professionals in a hospital or clinic setting. Those who work in a health care unit are assigned certain patients, in which the clinical pharmacist must decide the best medications to take care of a certain symptom. A clinical pharmacist must have hands-on experience, and must know how to assess and monitor patients as they take certain prescription medications. A clinical pharmacist may also be asked to diagnose a previously untreated illness, consult with other physicians and educate the patient about recovery options. They are the most important staff members for consultations and health education, assuring that the patients recover in the best way possible.

They must also be licensed by their preferred state as well.
