A skilled nursing facility seeks a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) experienced in healthcare and long-term care to contribute to quality patient care on the night shift. This contract position offers consistent hours and the opportunity to support patients with varying needs, including post-illness or injury rehabilitation in a supportive environment focused on patient outcomes.
Schedule & Hours
- 8-hour night shifts: 11:00pm – 7:00am, Monday through Friday (40 hours/week)
- Every other weekend rotation required
- Expect to work 75% of observed holidays
- No on-call or call-back requirements
Key Qualifications
- Active LPN license and BLS certification required
- Minimum of 18 months’ experience in a skilled nursing, long-term care, or rehab facility
- Previous travel assignment experience strongly preferred
- Proficiency with long-term care skills including trach management (refresher provided), wound care, dressing changes, IV management, tube feedings, and foley care
- Willingness to float as needed within the region and scope of practice (compensated travel time between assigned sites)
- Comfortable with EMR systems (EPIC), Alaris IV pumps, and Omnicell medication dispensing
Primary Responsibilities
- Deliver compassionate nursing care for short-term and long-term patients, including those recovering from stroke, amputation, neurological disorders, or joint replacement
- Collaborate with nursing leadership, therapies, case management, and health care technicians to coordinate patient care
- Complete routine patient monitoring, medication administration, and documentation in EMR
- Support departmental needs, including floating among skilled nursing facilities in the region as necessary
