A licensed practical nurse (LPN) opportunity is available at a skilled nursing facility specializing in continuing care. This contract role is based in Lincolnton, NC, and involves working primarily night shifts in a structured and supportive environment.

Location Overview:
Lincolnton offers a welcoming community with a small-town feel, providing easy access to major highways and nearby cities. The area blends suburban comfort with scenic surroundings, making it an appealing place to live and work.

Shift & Schedule:

  • Night shifts: 2300 to 0700 (Monday through Friday)
  • 8-hour shifts, total 40 hours per week
  • Every other weekend rotation
  • No on-call or callback requirements
  • Must work approximately 75% of holidays

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

  • Current LPN license with Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Minimum 18 months experience in skilled nursing or long-term care rehabilitation
  • Previous experience with tracheostomy care, Foley catheter maintenance, wound care, dressing changes, IV starts/management, and tube feedings
  • Comfortable with floating between regional facilities within the scope of practice
  • Proficiency with electronic medical records, specifically EPIC, and medical equipment such as IV pumps (Alaris) and medication dispensing systems (Omnicell)

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver nursing care to patients recovering from illness, injury, or surgery (e.g., stroke, amputation, neurological disorders, joint replacements)
  • Collaborate with nursing leadership, case management, therapists, and healthcare techs
  • Assist with 1-2 admissions per day, supported by administrative nurses
  • Adhere to facility protocols, including wearing designated LPN scrubs (Ceil Blue)
  • Participate in a two-day departmental orientation

Additional Details:

  • Floating may be required among five regional rehabilitation facilities
  • Paid travel time when floating mid-shift
  • Free parking available
  • Time off requests allowed but must be balanced by contract fulfillment
