Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in Shelby, NC

A skilled nursing setting is seeking an experienced LPN for contract coverage on 8-hour night shifts, Monday through Friday (2300-0700), with a rotation every other weekend and a commitment to working 75% of scheduled holidays. Covering a 120-bed facility, this role serves both short-term and long-term patients recovering from illness, injury, or surgery, with typical cases such as stroke recovery, amputations, neurological conditions, and joint replacements.

This position requires proficiency in skilled nursing tasks—such as trach management (with refresher provided on orientation), foley care, wound care, dressing changes, IV management, and tube feedings. Expect to float within the regional network of skilled nursing centers as needed, and enjoy support from on-unit nursing leadership, therapies, case management, and an admission nurse.

Schedule:

• 8-hour night shifts (11:00 PM - 7:00 AM), Monday through Friday
• 40 hours per week
• Every other weekend rotation
• No on-call or call back required
• Mandatory floating within the regional network

Key Qualifications:

• Active LPN license and current BLS certification
• Minimum 18 months SNF/LTC or rehab facility experience
• Recent long-term care experience with relevant skills as listed above
• Comfort with floating between facilities within the same region as needed
• Experience with EPIC EMR, Alaris IV Pumps, and Omnicell medication dispensing systems
• Ability to provide high-quality care for a variety of rehab patient populations

Responsibilities:

• Deliver patient care in a skilled nursing environment, including medication administration, wound care, IV management, and assistance with rehabilitation plans
• Complete nursing documentation accurately using EPIC
• Coordinate with interdisciplinary teams for holistic patient care
• Support a safe, dignified, and respectful patient environment
