Registered Nurse - Catheterization Lab | Bristol, Connecticut

Schedule & On-Call Details:

• One weekend on-call shift each month
• Weekday on-call 4-5 days per pay period (weekend call included in total days)
• On-call responsibilities: End of shift until 7:30 AM Monday through Friday, based on the established call schedule
• Weekend call extends from end of shift Friday to 7:30 AM Monday

Key Qualifications:

• Current and valid RN license
• Minimum of one year of recent Cath Lab nursing experience
• Comprehensive understanding of cardiac catheterization procedures, including pre-op, intra-op, and post-op care
• Broad knowledge of cardiac medications and emergency response protocols
• BLS and ACLS certifications (active status required)
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and critical thinking skills

Primary Responsibilities:

• Prepare and monitor patients undergoing diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterizations
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient care before, during, and after Cath Lab procedures
• Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, including documenting procedural steps and patient progress
• Provide education to patients and their families related to procedures, recovery, and ongoing cardiac care
• Respond swiftly and adeptly in emergent clinical situations
• Participate in on-call rotations as described above
