Qualifications:
- Valid and unrestricted RN license
- BLS and ACLS certifications, current and in good standing
- Minimum of one year of recent experience in Endoscopy or GI Lab nursing
- Proficiency in pre-, intra-, and post-procedural care for endoscopic procedures
- Strong assessment, critical thinking, and communication abilities
- Ability to work collaboratively with physicians, technicians, and ancillary staff
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare patients for endoscopic procedures, including assessment and patient education
- Administer procedural medications as ordered and monitor vital signs throughout procedures
- Assist physicians during procedures, ensuring appropriate instrumentation and sterile technique
- Monitor patients post-procedure, addressing any complications promptly and providing recovery education
- Maintain thorough, timely, and accurate documentation in electronic health records
- Uphold all infection control standards and regulatory compliance policies
- Participate in ongoing quality improvement and staff development initiatives
