This position offers an excellent opportunity for a skilled Registered Nurse to provide care within a Medical-Surgical Oncology setting. In this contract role, you will play a vital part in the care and treatment of oncology patients, utilizing your nursing expertise and chemo experience to support both patients and their families.
Schedule:
- 5x8-hour shifts per week
- 40 hours guaranteed per week
- 13-week contract commitment
- ASAP start date
Qualifications:
- Active Arizona or compact state RN license required
- Previous nursing experience in Med-Surg Oncology settings
- Proficient in chemotherapy patient care; Chemo certification not required, but prior chemo experience is necessary
- Strong critical thinking, assessment, and organizational skills
- Effective communication and team collaboration abilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver and coordinate patient-centered care for oncology patients, including those receiving chemotherapy
- Monitor, assess, and report on patient condition, response to treatments, and potential side effects or complications
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient management and advocacy
- Administer medications and maintain accurate, thorough documentation of care provided
- Educate patients and families on treatment plans, side effect management, and ongoing care needs
