A specialized opportunity is available for an experienced Med Surg Oncology RN to support patient care in a dynamic hospital setting. This contract role is ideal for a Registered Nurse passionate about oncology and dedicated to delivering high-quality care to patients experiencing complex medical and surgical needs.
Schedule:
- 13-week contract assignment
- Full-time: 36 or 48 hours per week
- Shifts: Choose from 3x12-hour or 4x12-hour blocks, with both days and nights available
- No on-call requirement; weekends and holidays included
Qualifications:
- Active RN license required; BSN strongly preferred
- Current BLS (AHA) and ACLS certifications required
- Hold a valid Florida State RN license or have an eligible compact state license
- A minimum of 2 years' Med Surg Oncology RN experience is preferred
- Previous travel nursing experience is a plus
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care to oncology and medical-surgical patients in accordance with best practices and evidence-based protocols
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to manage, monitor, and implement individualized patient care plans
- Administer chemotherapy and monitor for side effects, as well as support patients and families through the treatment process
- Provide patient education concerning disease processes, medications, and post-discharge care
- Accurately document all aspects of patient care in the electronic medical record system, maintaining a high standard of documentation and compliance
