Seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse experienced in psychiatric and geriatric care for a contract role focusing on Geri Psych patients. This position offers the opportunity to provide high-quality mental health support to older adults in a supportive environment.

Schedule:

  • PM shifts

Qualifications:

  • Current RN license in good standing
  • Demonstrated experience in psychiatric nursing, preferably with a focus on geriatric populations
  • Strong clinical assessment and crisis intervention skills
  • Ability to manage challenging situations with empathy and professionalism
  • Knowledge of medication administration specific to psychiatric conditions
  • Current BLS certification
  • Strong communication skills with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams
  • Previous Geri Psych experience highly valued

Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive nursing care and conduct assessments for geriatric psychiatric patients
  • Administer prescribed medications, monitor effectiveness, and manage side effects
  • Collaborate closely with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare staff to develop and implement care plans
  • Monitor mental status and document patient progress while ensuring a safe and therapeutic environment
  • Address acute episodes, de-escalate crises, and provide supportive interventions
  • Educate patients and families about mental health conditions and available resources
  • Uphold best practices and compliance with facility and regulatory protocols
