Psychiatric Registered Nurse (RN) - Cincinnati, OH

Seeking an experienced Registered Nurse with a strong background in psychiatric care for a contract assignment. This role calls for compassionate professionals adept at providing specialized nursing support to patients facing mental health challenges. The position involves close collaboration with multidisciplinary teams in a dynamic behavioral health setting.

Key Qualifications:

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Minimum of 1 year recent experience in a psychiatric or behavioral health setting
• Knowledge of best practices in psychiatric nursing, including crisis intervention, de-escalation, and patient safety
• Ability to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care plans specific to psychiatric patients
• Excellent communication and documentation skills
• Current BLS certification
• Flexibility and adaptability in fast-paced environments

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to patients experiencing acute or chronic mental health issues
• Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop individualized care plans
• Administer prescribed medications and monitor for side effects
• Collaborate closely with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals
• Implement safety protocols, including monitoring for detrimental behaviors and initiating appropriate interventions
• Provide patient and family education on diagnosis, treatment plans, and medication
• Maintain accurate, timely records and ensure compliance with documentation standards
