Psychiatric Registered Nurse (RN) - Gardendale, Alabama

Schedule/Hours:

Qualifications:

• Active, unencumbered RN license
• Minimum 1 year of psychiatric or mental health nursing experience
• In-depth understanding of psychiatric disorders, crisis intervention, and psychotropic medications
• BLS certification required
• Strong critical thinking and de-escalation skills
• Excellent communication and documentation abilities

Responsibilities:

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for psychiatric patients
• Execute physician orders and coordinate multidisciplinary care
• Administer medications and monitor patients for therapeutic and side effects
• Provide emotional support and education to patients and families
• Maintain safety protocols and conduct risk assessments
• Lead or participate in group and individual therapeutic interventions
• Document all care provided and report changes in patient status promptly
