Psych Registered Nurse (RN) in Pinson, AL

Deliver high-quality patient care in a specialized behavioral health setting, providing expert nursing support to geriatric psychiatric patients. Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Current RN license in good standing
• Proven experience in psychiatric or behavioral health nursing, especially with geriatric populations
• Strong clinical assessment skills and ability to respond effectively in crisis situations
• Previous experience with Geri Psych preferred
• Excellent interpersonal communication and de-escalation abilities
• Commitment to evidence-based practices and compassionate patient care

Responsibilities:

• Conduct mental health assessments and complete nursing documentation per regulatory standards
• Develop, implement, and review individualized care plans focused on the psychiatric needs of older adults
• Administer medications and monitor effects, observing and reporting behavioral changes
• Support patients through crises with a therapeutic and safety-conscious approach
• Educate patients and families on treatment plans, therapeutic interventions, and medication management
• Collaborate with physicians, social workers, and mental health professionals for comprehensive care planning
• Adhere to established protocols and promote a patient-centered atmosphere
