Qualifications:

• Active RN license, in good standing
• Previous experience in psychiatric or geriatric psychiatric nursing preferred
• Solid understanding of best practices in behavioral healthcare
• Strong communication, assessment, and critical thinking skills
• Ability to adapt to fast-paced and evolving clinical environments
• CPR/BLS certification

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct assessments and assist in admission and discharge processes for geriatric psych patients
• Implement care plans and monitor ongoing needs in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team
• Administer medications, including psychiatric medications, safely and in accordance with physician directives
• Document and report changes in patient behavior, vital signs, and status thoroughly and promptly
• Calmly de-escalate crises and manage acute psychiatric episodes, prioritizing patient and staff safety
• Educate patients and families on treatment plans, medication protocols, and ongoing care needs
• Participate in regular team meetings and contribute to a supportive, collaborative clinical environment
