Psych Registered Nurse (RN) in Trussville, AL

• PM shift

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Active, unrestricted RN license
• At least one year of experience in psychiatric nursing, preferably with geriatric patients
• Familiarity with behavioral health protocols and safety standards
• Ability to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care
• Strong communication, de-escalation, and crisis intervention skills
• Current BLS certification

Primary Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive assessments and ongoing evaluations of geriatric psychiatric patients
• Develop individualized care plans and coordinate with interdisciplinary teams
• Administer medications and monitor for therapeutic and adverse effects
• Provide direct patient care, including support for daily living and emotional well-being
• Maintain accurate documentation and comply with regulatory requirements
• Create a safe environment for patients while implementing individualized behavioral interventions
• Assist in patient and family education regarding treatment plans and health maintenance
