Step into a dynamic Medically Complex Rehabilitation Unit as an experienced Registered Nurse, providing essential care for patients with challenging medical needs. This contract role specializes in caring for individuals with LVAD, CVA, ABI, SCI, complex wounds, CAPD, and ventilator dependencies within a medical (non-traditional Med/Surg) setting.

Schedule:

  • 12-hour day shifts: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM
  • Every other weekend required

Desired Qualifications:

  • Active RN license with at least 1-2 years of experience, preferably in rehab, LTAC, or similar settings
  • Previous experience working with respiratory/vented patients (Nurses do not manage vents; RT support provided)
  • Prior travel nursing experience is a plus
  • Current BLS certification required; ACLS preferred

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver comprehensive, patient-centered care to a diverse, medically complex population
  • Manage IV starts, drips, EKGs, blood administration, medication titration, and glucose monitoring
  • Perform wound vac changes, wound measurements, and dressing for both complex and simple wounds
  • Provide trach care and suctioning, straight catheterization, foley care, port access, and central line dressings
  • Frequently float between the MRU and CMU acute care sister units, sometimes covering different units during the same shift (ratios: days/evenings 1:7; nights 1:9)
  • Collaborate closely with respiratory therapists and the interdisciplinary team
  • Maintain thorough documentation and ensure seamless transitions of care

$1,895 - $2,074/Week Estimated weekly earnings represent hourly wages, based on 36 hours per week, and expense reimbursement for eligible candidates. The actual amount may vary based on hours worked, eligibility for reimbursements, and seasonal adjustments.
