Stepdown Registered Nurse (RN) in Albuquerque, NM

Take on an impactful nursing role providing specialized patient care in a progressive care/stepdown environment. Nurses in this position will support a busy cardiovascular unit, offering comprehensive care for patients transitioning from intensive care with complex cardiac and medical needs.

Schedule/Hours:

• Night shifts: 4x12-hour (18:30 – 07:00)
• Option of 36 or 48 hours per week
• Weekends: As needed, on a rotating basis

Desired Qualifications:

• Active RN license
• Minimum of 1 year of relevant PCU/Stepdown experience (2 years preferred)
• Previous cardiovascular nursing experience required
• BLS and ACLS certifications required; CPI preferred
• First-time travel nurses are welcome to apply
• Experience with EPIC documentation preferred

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide high-quality nursing care to patients in a 55-bed cardiovascular-focused stepdown unit
• Manage a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4 to ensure attentive care and patient safety
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient treatment plans
• Float to similar units as necessary to support staffing needs within the facility
• Adapt to rotating weekend assignments and occasional block scheduling as needed
• Accurately document all patient care activities in EPIC
