Stepdown Registered Nurse (RN) - Albuquerque, NM

Advance your nursing career in a high-acuity Progressive Care Unit, working nights in a state-of-the-art heart hospital. This is a contract opportunity ideal for experienced RNs seeking to make an impact in stepdown care. You'll join a team dedicated to exceptional patient outcomes using leading-edge cardiovascular treatments and technologies.

Schedule:

• Nights, 4x12-hour shifts (18:30 - 07:00)
• 36 or 48 hours per week available
• Weekend shifts rotate as needed
• Float to related units required
• Block scheduling considered on a case-by-case basis

Qualifications:

• Current RN license
• Minimum of 1 year stepdown or PCU experience (2 years preferred)
• Cardiovascular experience required
• BLS and ACLS certifications (CPI preferred)
• EPIC EMR experience desirable
• Open to first-time travelers and local RNs

Responsibilities:

• Manage a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio in a 55-bed stepdown unit focused on cardiovascular patients
• Deliver evidence-based, compassionate care overnight, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams
• Assess, monitor, and document patient progress using EPIC
• Respond proactively to changes in patient condition, involving rapid response teams as needed
• Provide support and education to patients and their families
• Float to relevant units within the hospital as staffing needs demand
