Stepdown Unit Registered Nurse (RN) in Apex, NC

An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced RN with a background in Stepdown nursing to support patient care for a 13-week assignment. The position requires working three 12-hour night shifts each week, from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, with every other weekend included in the schedule.

Qualifications:

• Active NC or Compact RN license at time of submission
• Minimum of 2 years of recent Emergency Room nursing experience
• Current certifications in BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS
• Proficiency with EPIC electronic charting system
• Stepdown unit experience required
• Not open to first-time travelers; prior travel experience needed

Schedule:

• 3x12-hour night shifts (19:00 – 07:30)
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call responsibilities

Responsibilities:

• Deliver high-quality, evidence-based care to adult stepdown patients with diverse and complex needs
• Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient-centered care
• Respond rapidly and appropriately to emergencies and changes in patient conditions
• Document patient assessments, medication administration, and care interventions in EPIC
• Monitor vital signs, conduct thorough patient assessments, and manage medical equipment
• Educate patients and families on conditions, treatments, and discharge instructions
• Maintain safe nurse-to-patient ratios (1:4) for optimal clinical outcomes
