Stepdown Registered Nurse (RN) - Ayden, NC

Seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to provide care in a stepdown unit. This contract opportunity is ideal for clinicians passionate about intermediate-level patient care and excellence in nursing practice. Working alongside a dedicated interdisciplinary team, you’ll play a critical role supporting patients transitioning from intensive care to general medical-surgical floors.

Key Qualifications:

• Active RN license in North Carolina or compact state
• Proven experience in stepdown or progressive care settings
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• Strong assessment and critical thinking skills
• Familiarity with electronic medical records
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities

Responsibilities:

• Deliver evidence-based care for patients requiring frequent monitoring and advanced interventions in a stepdown unit
• Perform comprehensive assessments and respond promptly to changing health status
• Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals for coordinated patient care
• Educate patients and families on condition management and recovery processes
• Administer medications, manage IV drips, and perform advanced nursing procedures as appropriate
• Accurately document patient care activities in compliance with organizational policies and regulatory standards
