Stepdown Registered Nurse (RN) - Ayden, NC

Key Qualifications:

• Active RN license in good standing
• Recent experience working in a stepdown or progressive care unit
• Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and documentation skills
• Proficient in monitoring patients transitioning from intensive to med-surg care
• Familiarity with electronic medical record systems
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and patient advocacy skills

Responsibilities:

• Provide nursing care for patients requiring close monitoring as they transition from critical care
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team
• Monitor vital signs, administer medications, and perform interventions as needed
• Document patient status, interventions, and outcomes accurately in the EMR
• Communicate patient progress and changes to physicians and family members
• Support patient recovery while safely managing complex needs in a stepdown environment
• Educate patients and families regarding care plans, procedures, and post-discharge instructions
• Maintain a safe, clean, and supportive environment at all times
