Stepdown Registered Nurse | Belen, New Mexico

This contract opportunity calls for an experienced Stepdown Registered Nurse to deliver high-quality, compassionate patient care within a busy cardiovascular-focused unit. The Progressive Care Unit (PCU) features 55 beds and offers flexible scheduling with options for either 36 or 48 hours per week.

Schedule/Hours:

• Night shifts: 4x12-hour (18:30 – 07:00)
• Flexible hours: Choose between 36 or 48 hours per week
• Weekend shifts required as needed, on a rotating basis
• Block scheduling considered on a case-by-case basis
• No on-call responsibilities

Qualifications:

• Active, unencumbered RN license
• Minimum of 1+ years of recent PCU or Stepdown experience (2 years preferred)
• Cardiovascular nursing experience required
• BLS and ACLS certifications required; CPI certification preferred
• Experience with EPIC documentation system a plus
• Willingness to float within facility as needed
• Open to first-time travelers

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct patient care to cardiovascular and stepdown patients
• Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms, administer medications, and provide post-procedural care
• Coordinate with the interdisciplinary team to evaluate, plan, and implement care
• Respond quickly to patient changes and emergencies
• Document patient status, interventions, and outcomes accurately in the EPIC system
• Foster a positive and safe environment for patients and their families
