Step into a vital role providing expert nursing care in a dynamic cardiac stepdown environment. This contract assignment seeks an experienced RN to deliver best-in-class patient care over a 13-week duration, specializing in cardiac stepdown and telemetry.
Schedule:
- 12-hour night shifts
- 36 hours/week
- Every other weekend coverage
Required Qualifications:
- Active RN license with a minimum of 5 years of experience as a registered nurse
- Significant background working within a cardiac telemetry department, including direct experience with complex cardiovascular procedures and care such as TAVR, Watchman device, mitral clips, heart catheterizations, pre- and post-op open heart (after CVICU transfer), and post-op CABG beyond three days
- Competence in monitoring and managing patients with CHF, chest pain, dysrhythmias, NSTEMI, STEMI, pulmonary embolism, sepsis, pneumonia, stroke, and observation statuses
- Proficient in handling advanced cardiac medications—IV and PO administration, cardiac drips (including cardizem, amiodarone, dobutamine, lidocaine, milrinone, heparin, insulin), anticoagulants
- Skilled in complications management, use of TR bands, groin management, and recognizing intervention-specific risks
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Completion of all relevant skills checklists, especially in telemetry

- Perform holistic patient assessments, develop and implement comprehensive care plans, and consistently evaluate patient outcomes
- Provide education to patients and families to support recovery and promote health literacy
- Administer medications safely and manage resources effectively
- Adhere to regulatory and organizational standards, participating in ongoing professional development and unit-based improvement initiatives
- Foster a positive learning environment and mentor peers and new staff
