This opportunity calls for an experienced Registered Nurse skilled in cardiac telemetry and stepdown care, with a strong background in managing complex cardiac patients in a progressive care setting. The role involves providing compassionate, patient-centered care while adhering to professional nursing standards and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments, plan, coordinate, and implement nursing care for a diverse group of cardiac stepdown patients.
  • Serve as primary or accountable nurse ensuring patient safety and quality care.
  • Educate patients and families on health promotion and cardiac disease management.
  • Safely administer medications, including cardiac drips such as Cardizem, Amiodarone, Dobutamine, Lidocaine, Milrinone, Heparin, and Insulin.
  • Manage care for patients post TAVR, Watchman, mitral clips, heart catheterizations, post-op open heart procedures, STEMI, NSTEMI, and other complex cardiac conditions.
  • Monitor and manage telemetry, groin sites, and complications related to cardiac care.
  • Participate actively in nursing governance, professional development, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Foster a supportive educational environment for new staff and students.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years of RN experience with at least some in a cardiac telemetry or stepdown setting.
  • Proficient with telemetry monitoring and management of cardiac patients with complex conditions including arrhythmias, CHF, stroke, PE, sepsis, and pneumonia.
  • Familiarity with cardiac IV/PO medications and drips.
  • Required certifications: BLS, ACLS.
  • Ability to complete cardiac telemetry skills checklist accurately.
  • Must be comfortable managing patients transferred from CVICU and skilled in groin management and TR band usage.
  • Availability for 12-hour night shifts totaling 36 hours per week, working every other weekend.
  • Contract duration approximately 13 weeks.

Location: This position is based in Binghamton, NY, a vibrant city known for its blend of urban amenities and scenic natural beauty.   • 12-hour night shifts
