Stepdown Registered Nurse - Cape Coral, Florida

Step into a key role supporting patients in a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) and Stepdown setting, providing high-quality care during a busy seasonal influx. Multiple positions will be available through the winter months to meet increased demand due to snowbird populations, with start dates now through January. This contract opportunity offers flexibility in scheduling and the chance to build valuable experience in a high-acuity environment.

Schedule/Hours:

• Primarily night shifts available
• Some day shifts offered
• 36-hour and 48-hour work weeks

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Active, unencumbered RN license
• At least one year of experience in Stepdown or PCU settings strongly preferred
• Proficient in supporting patients with complex cardiovascular and respiratory needs
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Strong critical thinking and communication skills
• Candidates cannot reside in or own property within 50 miles of Lee Health facilities

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct patient care to individuals requiring intermediate care and continuous monitoring
• Monitor and interpret cardiac and respiratory status, escalating changes appropriately
• Administer medications, manage IVs, and perform thorough assessments
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Educate patients and families on conditions, recovery processes, and interventions
• Maintain detailed, accurate electronic documentation

$2,270 - $2,394/Week Estimated weekly earnings represent hourly wages, based on 40 hours per week, and expense reimbursement for eligible candidates. The actual amount may vary based on hours worked, eligibility for reimbursements, and seasonal adjustments.
