Step into a crucial nursing role providing specialized care in a Cardiac Stepdown/Intermediate Care setting. The focus is on supporting patients with progressive cardiac, heart, lung, vascular, and oncology diagnoses—including post-OR and ICU stepdowns, sepsis, and pneumonia. This contract spans 13-26 weeks, offering an engaging work environment within a dedicated intermediate care unit.

Schedule/Hours:

  • Guaranteed 36 hours per week (nights); option for 48 hours if you prefer added shifts.
  • Every other weekend (full Saturday and Sunday) required, unless otherwise approved.
  • Flexibility with up to 5 days off per 13-week period, subject to guidelines.

Qualifications:

  • Active RN licensure.
  • Minimum 1 year of stepdown or progressive care experience.
  • Valid ACLS and BLS certifications.
  • EPIC documentation experience required.
  • Strong communication skills, commitment to teamwork, and a patient-centered mindset are essential.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Deliver skilled nursing care by forming and adjusting individualized plans based on patient needs and ongoing assessments.
  • Monitor, record, and promptly report changes in patients’ conditions.
  • Administer medications, provide advanced care (including central line/IV therapy and wound care), and quickly respond to emergencies.
  • Educate patients and families on self-care, medication, disease management, and recovery strategies.
  • Maintain infection control standards, support patient and staff safety, and uphold confidentiality in compliance with regulations.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate and optimize patient care.
  • Maintain detailed patient documentation via EPIC.
  • Adhere to dress code: black scrubs.
  • Fulfill additional duties as necessary to uphold quality of care and organizational values.
