Stepdown Registered Nurse - Charleston, Missouri

Experienced Registered Nurses are encouraged to apply for a key role in a high-acuity Cardiac Stepdown Unit. This contract assignment offers the opportunity to work with advanced cardiac, vascular, and progressive care patients in a supportive and collaborative team setting, using the latest medical equipment and EPIC EMR.

Schedule & Shift Details:

• Night shift position
• 36 weekly guaranteed hours (option for 48 per week, by request)
• Every other full weekend required (Saturday & Sunday, unless otherwise pre-approved)
• Contract duration: 13–26 weeks
• Up to 5 requested days off per 13 weeks automatically approved

Qualifications:

• Valid RN license with at least 1 year of Stepdown or Cardiac Stepdown experience
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications (required)
• Proficiency in EPIC EMR (must-have)
• Familiarity with cardiac lines, chest tubes, and vasoactive drips
• Strong team player with effective communication skills and a dedication to positive patient outcomes

Duties Include:

• Developing and implementing individualized nursing care plans
• Monitoring, recording, and reporting patient symptoms and changes
• Administering medications and IV therapy, including central line management
• Providing education and emotional support to patients and their families
• Ensuring adherence to infection control and patient safety protocols
• Maintaining up-to-date and accurate documentation
• Acting promptly in emergency situations and advocating for patient safety

Additional Requirements:

• Black scrubs required as uniform
• Flu vaccination mandatory for contracts between November 1 and April 1 (client-approved exceptions only)
• Willingness to work at least one major winter holiday
