Stepdown Unit Registered Nurse (RN) in Chesapeake, VA

A rewarding opportunity is available for an experienced Registered Nurse with a background in Stepdown care. The ideal candidate has proven expertise in monitoring and managing patients transitioning from critical to acute care, prioritizing safety and quality outcomes.

Qualifications:

• Current and unencumbered RN license
• Minimum of one year RN-Stepdown or similar progressive care unit experience
• Proven ability to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care for intermediate acuity patients
• Proficiency with cardiac monitoring, titrating drips, and responding to emergencies
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and patients’ families
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Excellent critical thinking and adaptability in fast-paced situations

Responsibilities:

• Deliver safe, effective, and compassionate care to Stepdown patients requiring close observation and specialized interventions
• Monitor patient status, recognize changes in condition, and take prompt, appropriate action
• Administer medications, manage IVs, and routinely update and implement care plans
• Accurately document patient assessments, treatments, and responses per hospital protocols
• Work cohesively with physicians, case managers, and other nursing staff to coordinate seamless patient transitions
• Educate patients and families regarding care, recovery, and ongoing health needs

$2,001 - $2,189/Week Estimated weekly earnings represent hourly wages, based on 36 hours per week, and expense reimbursement for eligible candidates. The actual amount may vary based on hours worked, eligibility for reimbursements, and seasonal adjustments.
