Stepdown Registered Nurse (RN) - Chesapeake, VA

Qualifications:

• Current, unencumbered RN license
• Previous clinical experience in stepdown or cardiac stepdown units required
• Strong assessment and patient monitoring abilities
• Proficient in responding to changes in patient conditions and prioritizing care
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) certifications
• Excellent communication, documentation, and collaboration skills

Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct patient care to individuals transitioning from critical care
• Monitor cardiac and vital signs, administering medications and treatments as prescribed
• Recognize early signs of patient deterioration and initiate appropriate interventions
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to develop and implement care plans
• Educate patients and families regarding post-acute care and recovery processes
• Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with hospital protocols and standards
• Uphold infection control and patient safety guidelines
