PCU/Stepdown Registered Nurse (RN) | Christiansburg, Virginia

Deliver high-quality care by leveraging your RN experience in a stepdown unit. This contract position offers the opportunity to support patients requiring a higher level of observation than a general medical-surgical floor, focusing on those transitioning from critical to stable conditions. You’ll play a vital role in patient recovery, collaborating closely with interdisciplinary teams to ensure timely, compassionate, and safe care.

Qualifications:

• Current and valid RN license
• At least one year of stepdown or progressive care nursing experience
• BLS and ACLS certifications (active)
• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
• Proficiency with electronic medical records systems

Schedule:

• Variable 12-hour shifts
• Weekend and holiday rotation may be required

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor and interpret patient vital signs, intervening as necessary
