PCU/Stepdown Registered Nurse (RN) | Durham, North Carolina

Schedule/Hours:

• 13-week assignment
• Start date: 9/21/26
• Three 12-hour night shifts per week (19:00 – 07:30)
• Every other weekend required

Qualifications:

• Active RN license in NC or Compact state
• Minimum 2 years of recent Emergency Room nursing experience
• Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS
• Proficiency with EPIC charting systems
• Stepdown unit experience strongly preferred
• Not open to first-time travelers

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver high-quality care to stepdown patients, managing a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Monitor and assess patients recovering from critical conditions, providing swift interventions as needed
• Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams to craft individualized care plans
• Document all patient information accurately using EPIC electronic health records
• Respond effectively to changes in patient status, promptly escalating care when necessary
• Adhere to established protocols and safety procedures for stepdown nursing practice
• Participate in shift handoffs and contribute to continuity of care

$1,868 - $2,032/Week Estimated weekly earnings represent hourly wages, based on 36 hours per week, and expense reimbursement for eligible candidates. The actual amount may vary based on hours worked, eligibility for reimbursements, and seasonal adjustments.
