Stepdown Registered Nurse - Edgewood, New Mexico

Schedule/Hours:

• Night shifts: 4x12-hour (18:30 – 07:00)
• Options for 36 or 48 hours per week
• Weekend shifts required as needed, on a rotating basis
• Floating to similar units may be required
• Block scheduling considered on a case-by-case basis

Qualifications:

• Active RN license in good standing
• Minimum one year of recent stepdown or progressive care experience (two years strongly preferred)
• Cardiovascular nursing background required
• BLS and ACLS certifications required; CPI certification preferred
• Comfort with floating to other units as needed
• Experience with EPIC documentation system is advantageous
• First-time and local travelers are welcome

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to patients in a progressive care/stepdown setting
• Closely monitor patient status, vital signs, and response to interventions
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Provide patient and family education regarding diagnoses and care plans
• Maintain accurate documentation using EPIC
• Flexibly adapt to changing patient needs and unit requirements, including possible floating

Additional Role Details:

• Patient ratio: 1:4 on a 55-bed stepdown unit within a heart hospital setting
• Scrub color: Any (no logos required)
