Make a real difference in patient outcomes by providing specialized nursing care within a dynamic stepdown and cardiac telemetry environment. This contract opportunity offers the chance to apply your skills in a fast-paced setting while working with patients requiring advanced cardiac care and monitoring.

Schedule:

  • 12-hour night shifts
  • 36 hours per week
  • Every other weekend
  • 13-week duration

Qualifications:

  • Valid RN license in good standing
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
  • Minimum of 5 years overall RN experience
  • Extensive experience in a cardiac telemetry/stepdown unit, including:
    • Proficiency with TAVR, Watchman procedures, mitral clips, and heart catheterizations
    • Pre/post-op management for open heart surgeries (post-transfer from CVICU)
    • Competency in managing cardiac IV and PO medications, and administering drips such as cardizem, amiodarone, dobutamine, lidocaine, milrinone, heparin, insulin at set rates
    • Thorough knowledge of anticoagulant protocols, CHF, chest pain, arrhythmias, NSTEMI/STEMI, pulmonary embolism, post-op CABG (beyond three days), sepsis, pneumonia, stroke, and observation care
    • Experience with TR band application, groin management, and recognizing complications
  • Completed cardiac telemetry skills checklist
  • Strong assessment, delegation, and patient education abilities
  • Commitment to accurate documentation and adherence to nursing standards and regulations
