Stepdown Unit Registered Nurse (RN) in Hampton, VA

Qualifications:

• Active and unrestricted RN license
• Minimum of one year recent experience in a stepdown unit or similar progressive care environment
• Proficient knowledge of cardiac monitoring, ventilator weaning, and complex medication administration
• Strong assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications

Schedule/Hours:

• Contract position with variable shifts as assigned
• Flexibility for day, night, or weekend shifts preferred

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in the stepdown unit as they transition from intensive care
• Conduct thorough assessments and closely monitor vital signs, symptoms, and changes in patient conditions
• Administer medications, manage IVs, and carry out prescribed treatment plans accurately
• Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Educate patients and families about ongoing care and recovery processes
• Maintain detailed and accurate patient documentation in compliance with policy and regulations

$2,001 - $2,189/Week Estimated weekly earnings represent hourly wages, based on 36 hours per week, and expense reimbursement for eligible candidates. The actual amount may vary based on hours worked, eligibility for reimbursements, and seasonal adjustments.
