Stepdown Registered Nurse (RN) - Hampton, VA

Qualifications & Experience:

• Valid RN license in good standing
• Minimum of one year experience in a stepdown or cardiac stepdown unit preferred
• Demonstrated ability to assess and intervene in rapidly changing patient conditions
• Proficiency in cardiac monitoring, titrating medications, and caring for patients with complex cardiovascular needs
• Strong communication skills to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct care and continuous monitoring for stepdown and cardiac stepdown patients
• Perform detailed assessments, administer medications, and update care plans
• Recognize and respond to changes in patient status, escalating care as needed
• Educate patients and families on post-ICU recovery and self-care
• Maintain thorough and accurate documentation in medical records
• Participate in team huddles and shift reports for effective care transitions
