Stepdown Registered Nurse - Jackson, Missouri

Advance your nursing career in a collaborative, high-acuity environment specializing in cardiac stepdown care. We are seeking a dedicated RN with experience in stepdown and intermediate cardiac care to deliver patient-centered services on a fast-paced, progressive unit.

Schedule/Hours:

• Night shifts
• 36 guaranteed hours per week (option for 48 hours is available)
• Every other weekend (Saturday and Sunday required unless otherwise pre-approved)
• 13 to 26-week contract assignment
• Up to 5 days of requested time off per 13-week period automatically approved

Qualifications:

• Active RN license
• Minimum 1 year of recent stepdown or intermediate care experience
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications
• Must be proficient with EPIC EMR
• Demonstrated experience with cardiac stepdown or progressive, heart/lung/vascular patient populations
• Strong teamwork, adaptability, and communication skills
• Flu vaccination required from November 1-April 1 (exceptions by facility approval)

Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement, and adjust patient care plans based on evolving needs
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure optimal outcomes
• Monitor, document, and communicate changes in patient conditions
• Administer medications, perform wound care, IV therapy, and assist with complex equipment (lines, chest tubes, vasoactive drips)
• Provide education to patients and families regarding condition, treatment, and discharge
• Adhere to infection control, patient safety, and regulatory standards
• Support a positive and safe environment, advocating for patients and promptly addressing issues
• Guide and delegate tasks to support personnel as appropriate
