Stepdown Registered Nurse - Kansas City, Kansas

Key Qualifications:

• Current and unencumbered RN license
• Proven experience in stepdown or progressive care units (PCU)
• Proficient in patient assessment, monitoring, and interventions for complex cases
• Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
• Strong communication and critical thinking skills
• BLS and ACLS certifications required

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct patient care in line with evidence-based PCU/Stepdown protocols
• Monitor and interpret vital signs, cardiac rhythms, and respond promptly to any changes
• Carry out physician orders and administer medications as prescribed
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses in a timely, accurate manner
• Coordinate and communicate with physicians, specialists, and family members about patient status
• Support patients and families, providing education and emotional support
