Stepdown Unit Registered Nurse (RN) in Kansas City, KS

Seeking a Registered Nurse experienced in Stepdown and Progressive Care Unit environments. This position entails providing exceptional care to patients transitioning out of critical care, contributing your expertise to a collaborative, compassionate team for a fixed-term contract.

Schedule/Hours:

• Full-time schedule, including evenings, weekends, and possible rotating shifts as required by patient census.

Qualifications:

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing.
• Minimum of 1 year recent experience in a Stepdown or Progressive Care Unit (PCU).
• Advanced knowledge of cardiac monitoring, ventilator management, and specialized patient assessments.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
• Strong clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct patient care to adults transitioning from intensive care, monitoring for changes in status and rapidly responding to critical situations.
• Perform comprehensive assessments, develop and implement individualized care plans, and document clinical findings accurately.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to ensure continuity, safety, and quality of care.
• Educate patients and families on treatment plans, discharge instructions, and ongoing care needs.
• Maintain a safe and supportive environment, adhering to organizational, state, and federal guidelines.
