Schedule/Hours:
- 12-hour night shifts
- Every other weekend required
- Every other holiday required
Qualifications:
- Current RN license in Ohio or compact state
- Minimum of 2 years recent stepdown or progressive care experience
- BLS and ACLS certifications (required)
- NIH Stroke Scale certification (required)
- Dysrhythmia exam required (study guide provided)
- EPIC EHR proficiency (preferred)
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (preferred)
- Ability to manage cardiac telemetry, vascular and med-surg patients
Responsibilities:
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized care plans
- Manage cardiac drips (Cardizem, Amio, Dobutamine, Dopamine, Lasix, Heparin, Insulin)
- Care for patients with various tubes, lines, and respiratory devices (except ventilators)
- Read and interpret telemetry strips every shift in EPIC
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes
- Serve as a central contact for patient, care coordination, and family support
- Uphold safety, infection control, and privacy practices
- Provide education to patients and assist their families in adjusting to illness or changes in care
