Travel PCU/Stepdown Registered Nurse (RN) | Lorain, Ohio

Schedule/Hours:

• 12-hour night shifts
• Every other weekend required
• Every other holiday required

Qualifications:

• Current RN license in Ohio or compact state
• Minimum of 2 years recent stepdown or progressive care experience
• BLS and ACLS certifications (required)
• NIH Stroke Scale certification (required)
• Dysrhythmia exam required (study guide provided)
• EPIC EHR proficiency (preferred)
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (preferred)
• Ability to manage cardiac telemetry, vascular and med-surg patients

Responsibilities:

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized care plans
• Manage cardiac drips (Cardizem, Amio, Dobutamine, Dopamine, Lasix, Heparin, Insulin)
• Care for patients with various tubes, lines, and respiratory devices (except ventilators)
• Read and interpret telemetry strips every shift in EPIC
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes
• Serve as a central contact for patient, care coordination, and family support
• Uphold safety, infection control, and privacy practices
• Provide education to patients and assist their families in adjusting to illness or changes in care
