Stepdown Registered Nurse - Los Lunas, New Mexico

Step into a vital nursing role within a dynamic Progressive Care/Stepdown Unit at a well-respected healthcare facility. This contract opportunity offers nurses the chance to provide specialized cardiovascular care in a supportive environment. The unit boasts 55 beds and is located within the heart hospital, ensuring a rich professional experience for those passionate about stepdown nursing.

Schedule/Hours:

• Night shifts: Four 12-hour shifts weekly (18:30 - 07:00)
• Option for 36 or 48 hours per week
• Weekend participation on a rotating, as-needed basis
• Block scheduling may be available on a case-by-case basis

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Active RN license required
• 1+ years of recent stepdown/progressive care experience; 2 years preferred
• Experience with cardiovascular patient care is required
• Comfortable with 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratios
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications are mandatory; CPI preferred
• First-time travel RNs are welcome to apply

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver high-level nursing care to stepdown cardiovascular patients in accordance with evidence-based best practices
• Float to comparable units as required to meet patient care needs
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to plan and administer patient care
• Accurately document assessments, interventions, and outcomes in the EPIC system
• Uphold safety and compliance standards throughout all shifts
• Participate in weekend rotations as needed
