Desired Qualifications:
- Current, active Registered Nurse license
- Proven experience in a stepdown unit or similar progressive care environment
- Proficiency in cardiac and respiratory monitoring, use of telemetry equipment, and administration of IV medications
- Strong assessment, communication, and critical thinking skills
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications
- Ability to adapt in a fast-paced, high-acuity setting
- Compassionate bedside manner and dedication to patient advocacy
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive, patient-centered care for stepdown patients, closely monitoring for changes and escalating care appropriately
- Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and ancillary staff to develop and implement individualized care plans
- Perform detailed assessments and document findings with accuracy and timeliness
- Administer medications, manage IV drips, and handle complex medical equipment
- Deliver education regarding post-ICU recovery and ongoing health management to patients and families
- Support discharge planning and ensure continuity of care
