Stepdown Registered Nurse (RN) in Olathe, KS

This contract-based opportunity is ideal for experienced Registered Nurses skilled in Stepdown and Progressive Care Unit (PCU) settings. Your Background:

• Current RN license required
• Minimum of 1 year of recent experience in a Stepdown or PCU role
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) certifications
• Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills
• Familiarity with electronic health records and medical documentation
• Ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced hospital setting

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct nursing care for patients transitioning from critical care, monitoring and managing developing conditions
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians
• Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to plan, update, and implement care plans
• Accurately document observations, assessments, and interventions
• Educate patients and families on illness management, post-discharge care, and recovery expectations
• Maintain a safe, patient-focused environment
