Stepdown Unit Registered Nurse (RN) in Overland Park, KS

A skilled nursing professional is needed for a contract assignment providing high-quality care in a Stepdown and Progressive Care Unit (PCU) setting. This role is ideal for a Registered Nurse who excels in dynamic environments where attention to detail and adaptability make a difference in patient recovery. The successful candidate will deliver compassionate care to adult patients transitioning from critical care, closely monitoring their progress and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to support optimal outcomes.

Key Qualifications:

• Active RN license in good standing
• Proven experience in Stepdown and/or Progressive Care Unit (PCU) settings
• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
• Ability to interpret cardiac rhythms and manage ventilators, drips, and complex cases
• Excellent communication and patient advocacy abilities
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications

Responsibilities:

• Provide patient-centered care for adults recovering from acute or critical illness
• Continuously assess, monitor, and document changes in patient condition
• Administer medications, titrate IV drips, and implement nursing interventions per orders and protocols
• Respond effectively to emergencies and sudden changes in patient stability
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate and implement individualized care plans
• Educate patients and their families about the recovery process, medication regimens, and discharge plans
• Maintain thorough and accurate patient records in accordance with facility and regulatory standards

$1,895 - $2,074/Week Estimated weekly earnings represent hourly wages, based on 36 hours per week, and expense reimbursement for eligible candidates. The actual amount may vary based on hours worked, eligibility for reimbursements, and seasonal adjustments.
