Stepdown Registered Nurse (RN) - Owego, NY

Take the opportunity to advance your clinical expertise as a Registered Nurse in Stepdown/Cardiac Stepdown care. This contract assignment offers a highly dynamic environment focused on delivering specialized, patient-centered care to individuals with cardiac conditions, while promoting professional development and collaborative teamwork.

Schedule:

• 12-hour night shifts (36 hours per week)
• Every other weekend required
• 13-week contract

Required Qualifications:

• Active RN license in good standing
• Minimum 5 years of RN experience
• Recent and relevant cardiac stepdown/telemetry experience
• Comfort with procedures including: TAVR, Watchmans, mitral clips, heart catheterizations, pre- and post-op open heart transfers from CVICU, and post-op CABG (greater than 3 days)
• Proficient with cardiac IV/PO medications, cardiac drips (cardizem, amiodarone, dobutamine, lidocaine, milrinone, heparin, insulin), and anticoagulants
• Experience in managing CHF, chest pain, arrhythmias (NSTEMI, STEMI), PE, sepsis, stroke, and observation patients
• Familiarity with use of TR band, groin management, and recognizing complications
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Experience with telemetry and a completed Telemetry skills checklist
• Ability to provide accurate clinical documentation and ensure care compliance
• Excellent communication, education, and advocacy skills
