Schedule:

  • 12-hour night shifts
  • 36 hours per week
  • Every other weekend
  • 13-week commitment

Desired Qualifications:

  • Active RN license in good standing
  • Minimum of 5 years RN experience, with substantial cardiac telemetry/stepdown exposure
  • Proficient in procedures involving TAVR, Watchman, mitral clips, heart catheterizations, cardiac IV and PO medications, and management of cardiac drips (cardizem, amiodarone, dobutamine, lidocaine, milrinone, heparin, insulin)
  • Skilled in care for patients with anticoagulant therapy, CHF, chest pain, arrhythmias, NSTEMI/STEMI, pulmonary embolism, post-op CABG (post Day 3), sepsis, pneumonia, stroke, and observation-level patients
  • Experience with TR band and groin management, as well as recognition and management of related complications
  • Certifications: BLS and ACLS required
  • Must provide a completed telemetry skills checklist
  • Demonstrated accuracy in skills assessments and ability to ensure submission reflects relevant cardiovascular experience

  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for cardiac stepdown patients
  • Educate patients and their families on cardiac care, disease management, and health promotion
  • Safely administer medications and monitor pharmacologic responses
  • Promote efficient use of resources, supporting effective staffing and supply management
  • Ensure compliance with nursing standards, professional ethics, and hospital policies
  • Participate in shared governance, unit council initiatives, and peer review
  • Engage in ongoing professional development and evidence-based practice
  • Mentor and support the learning environment for new staff and students
