Stepdown Registered Nurse (RN) - Portsmouth, VA

An opportunity is available for an experienced Registered Nurse with a background in Stepdown care. This contract assignment is designed for a skilled RN who excels in fast-paced environments and is committed to high-quality patient care during critical transition periods.

Key Qualifications:

• Current, valid RN license
• At least one year of recent Stepdown nursing experience
• Strong assessment, monitoring, and critical thinking skills
• Ability to collaborate effectively with the healthcare team
• Proficient documentation and communication abilities
• BLS and ACLS certifications required

Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive care and close monitoring for patients transferring between intensive and standard medical-surgical units
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans
• Administer medications, manage IVs, and execute physician orders accurately
• Recognize and respond promptly to changes in patient condition
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatments, and post-hospital care
• Document all patient interactions, interventions, and outcomes according to facility protocols
• Ensure strict adherence to patient safety and infection control practices

$2,001 - $2,189/Week Estimated weekly earnings represent hourly wages, based on 36 hours per week, and expense reimbursement for eligible candidates. The actual amount may vary based on hours worked, eligibility for reimbursements, and seasonal adjustments.
